Loving myself was the loneliest thing I have ever experienced. In this journey to myself, I discovered many facets: loneliness, self-criticism, and ultimately the freedom that comes from self-acceptance. It is important to realize that the path to self-love is not a linear process. Many of us stand in front of the mirror and may not see the person we would like to be. We often compare ourselves to others and forget that everyone has their own struggles. In this phase of comparison, it can easily happen that we feel lost and doubt ourselves. It is crucial that we distance ourselves from negative influences that undermine our self-love. Conversely, healthy relationships can encourage us and help us become the best versions of ourselves. To promote this, we should actively seek connections with people who appreciate, respect, and inspire us. When we live in a positive environment and surround ourselves with people who encourage us, it strengthens our ability to love and accept ourselves.
